Pedro Diaz
Vice President Research & Development
Pedro Diaz is the Vice President of Research & Development for Cordis, where he oversees innovation, new product development, and the commercialization of new technologies.
He has extensive experience in the cardiovascular medical device industry and the Cordis business. Prior to rejoining Cordis, Mr. Diaz worked in the in vitro diagnostics industry, leading the Flow Cytometry Product Development Center for Beckman Coulter. He also worked in the ophthalmology field developing surgical navigation systems as part of a start-up venture. Earlier in his career, he was a key member of the R&D team of Cordis-Johnson & Johnson where he worked on the ideation, development, and commercialization of many medical devices for Cardiology and Peripheral applications. He held engineering and managerial positions of increasing responsibilities during such tenure, including the position of Director of R&D for the Carotid Systems product development unit.Mr. Diaz has spent his whole career in the medical device and diagnostics industry, developing a passion for bringing solutions for customers and patients.
His educational training includes Computer & Systems Engineering as well as Technology Management. He holds a Master of Science degree from Florida International and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Nova Southeastern University.
